How to Get Help: (315) 474-HOME
Campaign Details: The Syracuse campaign was launched on August 9, 2001. Home Headquarters is the lead agency, and it answers calls on the consumer hotline. A network of city agencies and nonprofits provides counseling to consumers who call the hotline. Most of their cases are the results of referrals from HUD and partner agencies. A legal team conducts screening and provides referrals to attorneys as necessary. They catch many cases before a contract is signed, and they are able to provide those consumers with alternative solutions so they can avoid predatory loans. They also provide refinancing loan products to qualified consumers.
