Campaign
Details:
The Suburban Philadelphia Don’t Borrow Trouble Campaign in
Southeastern Pennsylvania launched in the first quarter of 2005.
This collaborative initiative covers four counties in the metropolitan Philadelphia
region: Bucks County, Chester County, Delaware County, and Montgomery County.
The overall goal of the Quad-County Don’t Borrow Trouble campaign
is to promote homeownership, family and individual stability, and success amongst
those most vulnerable to predatory lending through public education, legal assistance,
and other housing assistance. Consumers will have access to a Helpline that
provides free civil legal advice for purchasing a home, refinancing, consolidating
debt, taking out a home-equity loan, and mortgage foreclosure prevention. The
campaign will promote financial literacy through education and marketing that
will address consumer issues that impact vulnerable communities.
