Campaign Details:
New Hampshire Housing leads this campaign, which was launched on October 19, 2006. The initiative uses newspaper ads, radio shows and paid ads, seminars and marketing through nonprofits to reach consumers. Consumers call the Don’t Borrow Trouble help line for free advice while purchasing a home, refinancing, consolidating debt, taking out a home equity loan, or in need of mortgage foreclosure prevention. Callers are either assisted directly through the help line or referred to nonprofit housing agencies for counseling. The New Hampshire campaign also plans to conduct a study on the impact of predatory lending on the state.
