Campaign Details:
The campaign was launched on October 27, 2005. DBT Kentucky will empower local communities through an outreach campaign,
a strong and knowledgeable network of counselors and legal aid attorneys, an information and referral line and shared
predatory lending web site links. At least eight mayors have endorsed the campaign.
The lead agency is the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), which works with a counseling network of 125 counselors. KHC’s
counselor network provides home buyer education, predatory lending education, budget/credit classes, post-purchase education
and comprehensive one-on-one counseling.
While the Kentucky campaign offers statewide access to a toll-free referral line, the campaign targets 12 cities in the state: Morehead, Hazard, Covington/Newport, Lexington, Hopkinsville, Elizabethtown, Radcliff, Ashland, Hazard, Bowling Green, Morehead, Mayfield, Frankfort and Louisville.
