How to Get Help: 888-925-2521

Campaign Description: The campaign was launched on November 16, 2005. The lead agencies are Anchorage NHS and Fairbanks NHS. The campaign uses consumer education methods such as public presentations, workbooks, and workshops. It also conducts financial literacy seminars for young parents, publicized through elementary schools. An extensive media campaign, brochures, utility bill inserts and direct mail will alert consumers to the problem of predatory lending.

The hotline is hosted by the State of Alaska Division of Banking and Securities, Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Each phone call will be sent to the most appropriate of five partners: State of Alaska Attorney General’s Office, State of Alaska Division of Banking, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, Alaska Native Housing Authorities or Alaska Housing Finance Corporation.
